New morning work
this week
Charleigh is playing
the planting game
(carrots on a stick with
number and you can "plant"
them by putting them in numerical
order)
Coloring and cutting
Insects to investigate
I found a
Praying Mantis for
Winston(who LOVES
praying mantis')
Practicing cutting
straight lines and curves
Butterfly coloring sheets and also
looking at which butterfly is different
from the others
using a magnifying glass to
check out the insects
using the flowers to make
patterns or just a design
MORNING MEETING
and
CLASS PLEDGE
Nora was our
attendance helper
EVERYONE CAME TO
SCHOOL TODAY!!!
SCHOOL TODAY!!!
Second Steps
We looked closely at this picture
We looked at each child's face and
tried to decide how we thought each child was feeling
the children decided the child in purple was sad
we then talked about WHY we thought she was sad
many friends said
they thought she was sad because she
can't see the book
I asked the children if they could
think of other FEELINGS that might describe
how you feel when things don't go your way
or your don't get what you want
the children did a great job with this
they said
angry
mad
frustrated
one feeling they might not be as
familiar with is
DISAPPOINTED
We then talked about ways
to calm our BODIES when we
have BIG emotions!!
So proud of this
group of children
LOTS of great ideas and we all
practiced taking
belly breathes
breathe in through your nose
out through your mouth
OUTSIDE
Teddy was so proud
of himself for standing
on top of the tires...he was on the
higher one as well
CHAPEL
Mrs Bernhardt's class
led chapel in the commons today
We learned about
the GOOD SHEPHERD
Jesus is our Good Shepherd
Bria was our
offering helper
STORY TIME
Teddy asked if he could volunteer to
be our
LIBRARIAN today
weather helper
Lincoln said WINDY!!!
SO WINDY OUT TODAY
Teddy was our
prayer leader
Charleigh was
our snack manager
SNACK
Addie was our teacher assistant
Carson was very excited to be
our entomologist today
He got to add the number to our count
we are on day 7!
About 1/2 way to
BUTTERFLIES
then he got to show the class
his drawing of what was happening...
His drawing shows 4 of the chrysalis
still attached to the lid and one off to the
side
which even though can't see great in picture below
is exactly what is happening
(one caterpillar built his
chrysalis on the bottom
of the container instead
of crawling to the top
like they usually do..so I am
interested to see what
happens with that one)
CENTER TIME
Hazel was our
exercise leader
PUSH UPS
Oliver was our invocation leader
we did invocation a little later
today because of chapel
PRAYER REQUESTS
