Sorry this posted is late and
the pictures posted somewhat out of order
A few friends didn't get their Christmas presents from Mrs Larimore
and I, so we had them open them right before we went outside. Which was
perfect because we made winter hats and they put them right on.
Chilly but the kiddos never once complained about being cold
They were having so much fun just running around and discovering
"frost" all over the playground
Story time..... Leo wanted to be Sit By the Teacher for his job today
mostly because he wanted to do the teacher assistant part of this job,
which is pointing to the letters with our special pointer after we eat
snack..... pictures of that further down
Luke was weather helper today
our weather chart is set up also like a calendar
when I first introduced this
we start with just counting how many sunny/rainy/
snowy/ etc days...
As we come back from Christmas break,
the children will be ready for a little more
I will put what MONTH it is on top
and we will talk about what day of the week
it is (probably won't focus on the actually date)
but just more today is Monday, which means yesterday was Sunday
or I will say since today is Monday, tomorrow is Tuesday
Since the children are asking about the "blank" spots
which are Saturday and Sunday slots
Our Friday weather helper will put up Saturday(which will be
just a square that says Saturday(a stay at home day)
And our Monday weather helper can also put up Sunday's
Again, we won't focus too much on it, but just to introduce
days of the week. With a multi-aged group of children
some of the class is ready for more. There are o many
great aspects to have multi-aged kiddos together. One example is as our older students
are ready for more complex thinking they can be great
role models for our younger kiddos
Leo was so excited to be the teacher assistant and point to each letter
After we pointed to each letter, I passed out 4 BIG lines and 3 LITTLE
lines to each kiddo and they were able to look at our letter wall and
make any of the letters that are formed with only lines that they chose to make
They were super proud of themselves
Then we used our Smartboard
and had a chance to "write" letters !! Each child got to come up and choose 3
letters they wanted to make. Such a great way to end learning about all the letters
they are made from just LINES!!!
The children love using the Smartboard
Each child got to choose which letters they wanted to make
Luke wanted to write his name
and put a "box around it"........
Look at his L......
He made what I call
bubble letters!
Center Time
I left the Smartboard on and a few of the kiddos really enjoyed
just drawing whatever they wanted to make
I had some random "CRAFT" supplies left over from I think last
year. Carly had a great time making ornaments. She made one ornament
for each friend that was at school Friday. After she made the ornament, she wanted to put each friends name on the back and then made sure helped put it in his back pack to go home after she gave it to each friend
end of day exercises.... squats
Looks like these pictures below which are from the very beginning of our day
just posted at the bottom
